Although The Flintsones were basically a ripoff of another famous TV show called The Honeymooners, it is a pretty remarkable show for being the first primetime cartoon in history.
It was also one of the first shows to deal with the issues of infertility and adoption. When The Flintstones' first daughter is born, Barney and Betty are sad that they can't conceive and eventually adopt Bam-Bam.
The show is also one of the first to depict a couple sleeping together in the same bed. Although a 1947 sitcom had shown a couple sharing a bedroom, The Flintstones were the firsts to actually show the couple in bed together.
